Newcastle Dog and Cat Shelter

Impact looks like… second chances.

Newcastle Dog & Cat Shelter
A regional charity caring for, rehabilitating and rehoming abandoned and vulnerable animals, giving them the care, safety and support they need until they find loving new homes.

What they asked
To inform existing donors of the impact their money has on the wellbeing and rehoming of animals, while also building meaningful relationships with new supporters.

What we did
Designed donor communications and fundraising materials that balanced emotional connection with clarity, trust and long-term supporter confidence. For their Christmas Appeal, we created an engagement piece designed to build a relationship between the shelter and the donor. Instead of a direct ask, the campaign used a soft engagement approach with the option to donate, encouraging supporters to connect with the cause first, which proved highly effective.

“…helping more animals receive care, rehabilitation and a second chance at a safe, loving home…”

Campaign deliverables

  • A4 double-sided letter

  • A5 cut-out baubles – one to keep and one to return, encouraging engagement

  • Impact newsletter

  • C5 envelope

  • BRE (Business Reply Envelope)

The Outcome

Supporters felt confident their donations were making a real difference and appreciated the opportunity to engage personally with the shelter by leaving a heartfelt message. The bauble also gave donors something meaningful to display at home as a thank you, reinforcing their connection to the cause while helping more animals receive care, rehabilitation and a second chance at a safe, loving home.
